Focus on the following scripture throughout the day. It’s God’s Word and it’s what He desires us to believe. Believe it is true for you because God’s Word is Truth. Use it as an affirmation. Speak this Word to yourself throughout the day. Personalize it by putting your name in it!

“that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:5

Big Believing in 2014

“In Your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:30, 33

“…God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20

Happy New Year!! We’ve made it to 2014! Let’s celebrate by believing BIG this year!

Do you believe those verses of scripture are true for you?

Will that take some “big believing” on your part in 2014?

I encourage you to adopt this viewpoint–of God being with you, accompanying you in all that you do, loving you every minute of each day. Then you will see how, through His strength, you’ll be able to overcome challenges. Through His love, you’ll be able to love the unloveable.Through His guidance, your path will be secure. Through His power, you’ll experience more good than you could ask or think.

I pray that you’ll choose to wrap yourself in Jesus’ love and believe big in 2014 so that you’ll crush the opposition, jump over any obstacle, experience peace along your way, and enjoy the miraculous!

Who Dat?

No, this post is not about the New Orleans Saints and the Who Dat Nation. It’s about deciding where your focus will be in 2014.

If Jesus appeared in your living room today, would you recognize Him or would you have to say, “Who dat?” If He showed up at your place of employment, would you have to say, “Who dat?”

Make a decision today, 12/31/2013, that no matter what challenges lie ahead, your focus will be on Jesus and all His goodness, strength, and unconditional love for you. Then, when He appears, you won’t have to say, “Who dat?” You’ll know Him for sure and you’ll enjoy the favor, wisdom, and peace that only His presence can give you.

Focus on the presence of the Champion. That will be the best decision you’ll ever make as you plan for advancement in 2014 and beyond!

“We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. ”

Hebrews 12:2 (NLT)

Trust God

trust in JesusI was listening to Nicole C. Mullen sing an old hymn this past weekend. The title was “Tis So Sweet.” Many times, the lyrics of hymns like this one become so familiar that we don’t really pay attention to the words and their meaning.

This song struck me this morning, reassuring  me that trusting what God has said is key in enjoying the benefits of His grace. His words are containers for His grace. His words are a life-giving source.  His words are a reflection of His loving character.

Trusting the stability and effectiveness what God has said allows us to experience His grace.  I want more of His grace exhibited in my life and in the lives of those I love. So I choose to trust His words and thereby trust His character and love for me.

Below is a video with the lyrics to this hymn. I hope the words bless you and assist you experiencing the sweetness of trusting in God’s love for you.

How do you encourage yourself to trust God for the things you desire? Do you use His Word to increase your confidence in Him?

Use Your Tongue for Life

This past weekend, I was privileged to speak at the TCWF Women’s Empowerment Conference. It was striking to hear the response of attendees who were helped by my pointing out the importance and the influence of their words.

English: This is a tongue

We all need to realize that our words are transporters of power in our lives. Proverbs 18:21 notes that life AND death are in the power of the tongue. When we read and believe words, or when we say and believe words, that leaves an imprint within us that either adds life to our lives or adds death. This death is not necessarily physical but rather it’s a secession or withdrawal of good from our lives. Speaking negatively should be avoided. Speaking negatively can drain us of hope!

Bible hope means to have a confident expectation of good. So speak hope-filled words, believe your words of hope,  and expect something good to be added to your life today. Jesus said His words are life (John 6:63). Why not agree with His words/promises by saying what He said? Speak and believe God’s words and you’ll be speaking life to your life.

Make a decision today to use your tongue for  life!

5 Bible Verses Every Infertile Woman Needs To Know

Shouldn’t every infertile woman address the spiritual aspect of infertility?

If you are struggling with infertility, you know what a hopeless situation it can become, if  you let it. When I dealt with it, I found the best source of hope was the Bible. It contains numerous scriptures that pertain directly to infertility. It also gives many accounts of women who were once barren/infertile/childless but became a mother, all because they trusted God to be true to His Word.

I’ve said it before, Infertility Sucks! But I know firsthand that it can be overcome. Here are five verses that I meditated on and repeatedly used as verbal affirmations, putting my name in each scripture. I think you’ll find them to be great sources of HOPE.

Deuteronomy 7:14 [NKJV] ~ “You shall be blessed above all people; there shall not be male or female barren among you.”

Isaiah 50:7 [NKJV] ~ “For the Lord God will help me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.”

Leviticus 26:9 [Amplified Bible] ~ “For I will be leaning toward you with favor and regard for you, rendering you fruitful, multiplying you and establishing and ratifying my covenant with you.”

Hebrews 11:11 [NLT] ~ “It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.”

Luke 1:37 ~ “For with God NOTHING shall be impossible.”
