Focus Friday – Love in Marriage

Maintaining a successful marriage takes work under “normal” circumstances. It is especially important to work at maintaining a strong, hope-filled, and love-based marriage during the stressful circumstances added by a season of infertility.

Here are important some keys about love, as God intended it to be experienced between husband and wife. Focus on how love REALLY is and not as it’s portrayed on television, in romance novels, and online. Focus on God’s love for you and how He wants you to love your spouse.

The Shock of Male Infertility

Pressure. All of us face it in various forms. But men tend to deal with pressure in ways that are much different from women.

Enter the pressure of being told that you, the husband, are the one with infertility issues. Below, is the link to an informative article from Resolve.org about male infertility…that’s right, MALE  infertility.

Most people think that infertility is a only female issue. It’s not. According to Resolve, about 30% of all infertility cases are a result of infertility factors in the husband. Men have to find ways of coping with the shock of being told of their infertility. It affects not only their body but also their ego, among other things. You don’t hear much said about male infertility. There’s not much written about it. But it does happen.

A scripture that can help a man continue in hope when he’s facing infertility is Job 11:18 [NLT], Having hope will give you courage.”

Here’s the link for the Resolve article: Men – Emotions and Infertility.

I hope you’ll find some helpful information in it and pass it, along with the scripture, on to others.
